Bio: Club Captain Kyle Bryant joined the Reds in October 2020, and comes in to this season with 80 appearances under his belt, more than anyone else over that period. Born and raised in Derby, Kyle started his football journey as a four year old, when his parents made his older brother take him to training with him at his local club, Parkside Colts.

Comfortable anywhere across the back, Kyle started his senior career with Long Eaton United. From there Bryant moved to local rivals Gresley Rovers and fellow Derbyshire side Mickleover Sports. Spells at Sutton Coldfield Town, Coalville Town and Loughborough Dynamo followed before moving to back to Derbyshire with Belper Town.

Whilst with ”The Nailers” Bryant embarked on an impressive FA Cup run, starting the in the preliminary round at home to Sporting Khalsa. After drawing 1-1 at home, Belper won the replay 3-1 in extra time. The first qualifying round saw a 1-0 win at home to step three Alvechurch, before another higher level opponent visited Christchurch Meadow in the second qualifying round.

That round produced a 0-0 draw against Witton Albion, in front of over 500 supporters. The replay saw a dramatic 1-0 win in extra-time, as Bryant helped his side to a third straight cleansheet against higher level opponents. Yet again, step four Belper hosted a step three side, with Rushall Olympic the visitors in the third round. A 2-1 victory for Town, in which Bryant notched an assist, saw them handed a glamourous tie away to Notts County in the fourth, and final, qualifying round. One of only five step four sides to make it that far in the competition, Belper eventually succumbed to the Magpies, by a score of 2-1, despite taking an early lead.

After his spell at Belper, Kyle stayed in his native Derbyshire, joining Ilkeston Town, where his loan move brought him to Quorn. A proud family man, Kyle’s wife Amy can regularly be seen cheering him on, with their son and daughter, at Farley Way.
