FA CUP DRAW: Quorn Drawn Away in the Preliminary Round

The Reds will hit the road in the Preliminary Round of the 2024/25 FA Cup. The club will face the winner of the Extra-Preliminary Round tie between Kimberley Miners Welfare and Cleethorpes Town.

Kimberley play in the United Counties League Premier Division North, and struggled to a 14th place finish in their second season at step five last year, after a solid debut the season prior. Quorn midfielder Tom Hilton played three times for the Miners early last season as he was registered on dual terms.

Cleethorpes Town play in the NPL East Division, at step four, where they finished ninth last season. They ended the season on 56 points, nine shy of Carlton Town, who secured the final playoff place. The Owls have an impressive cup pedigree, twice reaching the third qualifying round of the FA Cup in the past six years, as well as making it all the way to Wembley in the Vase final seven years ago.

That FA Cup extra-preliminary round tie will take place at Kimberley’s Stag Ground on the 3rd of August, with the preliminary round match following two weeks later on the 17th of August. Keep an eye on our website and social media for details of the fixture early next month.
