NEWS: Ant Carney Steps Down
Quorn Football Club have announced today that Player/Manager, Ant Carney has stepped down from the role, to concentrate on life away from Football.
“We’re obviously gutted by the news” said Secretary Adam Etheridge, “Ant has been wonderful in the role as Manager, and has also been a brilliant player for the club in his time here. I don’t think people give Ant and Matty (Green) enough credit for stepping in the breach at a pivotal moment for the club, and leading us in to the playoffs.”
Ant will also be hanging up his boots, as his attentions turn to life after football “Unfortunately, and with a heavy heart, I have made the decision to step down as Manager of Quorn Football club” said an emotional Carney. “My wife and I are expecting a baby boy and I wish to give them all of my physical and emotional energy at this time. I feel extremely privileged to have been a part of achieving history at Quorn.”
A huge thank you to Stuart (Turner) for putting his trust and faith in myself. I have so much love for the players, staff, fans and all connected and can’t express my gratitude for their unconditional support. I wish everyone the very best for what I’m sure will be an exciting future. Thank you and I’m sure I will see you all again soon”
Everyone at Quorn would like to take this opportunity to thank Ant for his time and efforts as a player and a Manager. We wish him all of the very best for everything that his future brings. Quorn Football Club will now turn their attentions to filling the role of Manager as they embark upon a second season back in step four.
