NEWS | Interim Management Duo to Remain in Charge

Quorn Football Club are delighted to announce that Ant Carney will continue in the role of First Team Manager until the end of the 2023/24 season. Ant will be assisted by Matt Green, who steps up from Coach to Assistant Manager.

“We were delighted and impressed with the number, and quality, of applications that we received since the position opened up last week” said Secretary Adam Etheridge. “Within an a few minutes of the announcement we were receiving applications. Although there were plenty of strong applicants, we felt that the incumbent interim duo gave us the best opportunity to maintain the team spirit that had been built throughout the season.”

“Ant and Matt were as taken aback as the rest of us when we received Richard and Tom’s resignations last week, but the pair got to work straightaway and have reacted superbly to the challenge. We’re grateful to Rich and Tom for getting us as far as they did, it’s now up to Ant and Matt to keep that momentum going and, hopefully, carry us in to the playoffs.”

The new duo started off their tenure with a battling 2-1 win away to Gresley Rovers last weekend, and face a daunting trip to Anstey Nomads on Saturday. Their first home game is still a month away, when AFC Rushden and Diamonds are set to visit Farley Way.
