NEWS: Reece Limbert Joins Coaching Staff
Quorn Football Club have announced the hiring of a new first team coach to join Ryan Beswick’s backroom staff. Former Hucknall Town Manager Reece Limbert joins the Reds and can’t wait to get started “I’m delighted to be here and join the existing coaching staff at the club. I wasn’t actively looking for another role, but I did have ambitions to step up a level. I saw this role advertised the other week and after speaking with Ryan on the phone, I knew it was the right fit for me. I met the players last week, put on a session, which I enjoyed, and subsequently was offered the position. “
Born in Derby, Reece began his coaching badges at 17. “I completed the level one and continued to play football on the side whilst coaching a youth grassroots team. I finished playing non-league early but moved onto senior coaching the following season when my previous manager asked me if I wanted to coach the team he was taking over.”
“It was a challenge moving from youth to adult football, but I’ve never looked back. It’s taken me from amateur level all the way through steps eight, seven, six and five, coaching and managing in the FA Cup, and now here at Quorn at step four. “
Whilst coaching the first team with Kimberley Miners Welfare, Limbert was part of a promotion campaign that culminated in a 25 game winning streak to end the season, so is no stranger to the kind of run that the Reds have put together. “This season it’s all about keeping the run going and aiming as high as we can. We’re still in the County Cup too, so going as far in that as we can is also part of the aim for the remainder of this season.”
With the “P” word banned around the club, Reece wouldn’t be drawn on looking further ahead. “Long term, let’s see where we are in April. That will outline what our long-term goals will be.” Aside from his time as a coach with Kimberley, Limbert boasts plenty of other coaching experience, including Managing at Hucknall Town, and maintaining their step five status last season.
A full-time sports coach Reece has also guided Ripley Town, as Manager and coach, and spent time with working for the Academies of professional clubs Notts County and Burton Albion, and is currently working with Nottingham Forest.
Residing in South Derbyshire, Limbert is of Hungarian descent “I’m proud of the people around me and my family heritage as my Grandad was born in Hungary. My friends and family are an amazing support network and I’m proud of who they are as people and how well they’re doing in their lives and careers. It’s important to have good people around you, and I think that’s what we have here at Quorn. It was great meeting everyone last week and I’ve been made to feel very welcome. I haven’t worked with any of them before, but I know a few of them from playing against over the years.”
