PREVIEW: Coleshill Town (A)
Where:
Pack Meadow, Packington Lane, Coleshill, Warwickshire, B46 3JE
When:
Saturday 19th of October 2024 (3pm KO)
Back-to-back home wins in the last week have helped the Reds take over top spot in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division. Quorn remain unbeaten in the league but face a tough trip to Coleshill Town tomorrow.
Quorn’s Form:
The Reds have won eight straight in the league, including five straight wins away from home. Overall Quorn have played six away from home, drawing their first trip away (Long Eaton United 1-1) before successive victories at Racing Club Warwick (2-0), Worcester City (4-1), Lye Town (2-0), Boldmere St, Michaels (1-0) and Corby Town (2-0). The Methodists’ stingy defence hasn’t conceded more than once in a league game to this point, and has helped propelled Quorn to the top of the table.
Coleshill Town’s Form:
The Colemen have enjoyed some excellent form in Cup competitions so far this season, having already played eight matches in various competitions. Coleshill most recent match saw them knock Walsall out of the Walsall Senior Cup with a 2-0 win at Pack Meadow on Monday evening. Other notable results include a 3-2 Cupset at Ilkeston Town in the FA Trophy.
Town currently sit in 10th place in the league, having won four, lost four and drawn three. Six league games at Pack Meadow have produced mixed results, winning the first two, drawing the next two and losing the two most recent home matches vs Worcester City (1-2) and Sporting Khalsa (0-2).
Overall they have a goal difference of +1 and have won just one of their previous four league games, a 3-1 win away to Rugby Town.
One to Watch:
Alex McSkeane is top scorer for the Colemen, chipping in with six goals from just nine appearances so far this season. All six of those goals came in a 17 day stretch as he struck against Grantham Town and Darlaston Town as well as braces Carlton Town and Bedworth United. The last of those goals came on the 24th of September as he’s been absent from the scoresheet in his last five appearances, so he’s definitely due.
Last Time:
The two sides met at Farley Way in early February with Courey Grantham opening the scoring in the 20th minute. Coleshill pulled level before the break as Sam Fitzgerald struck in the 34th minute. Cain Noble restored the lead in the 67th minute and Paddy Webb finished the contest off in the 78th minute as the Reds ran out 3-1 winners.
