PREVIEW, TICKETS & TRAVEL: Cleethorpes Town (A)

Where:

Myenergi Stadium, Clee Road, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN32 8QL

When:

Saturday 17th of August 2024 (3pm KO)

Whilst Quorn got off to an impressive start, defeating Sutton Coldfield Town 5-1, Cleethorpes have arguably had an better opening to the season. Defeating Kimberley Miners Welfare 7-0 in the FA Cup Extra-Preliminary Round, they followed that up with their own 5-1 victory, defeating Brighouse Town at home to get their NPL East campaign off to a great start. In midweek action, the Reds were unlucky to only come away from Grange Park with a point as they laid siege to Long Eaton’s goal in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. Meanwhile the Owls mirrored our result again, coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Stocksbridge Park Steels on Wednesday evening.

One to Watch:

Nicky Walker has started the season in impressive form, scoring a brace in each of the first two games, away to Kimberley and at home to Brighouse Town. The veteran forward spent time with his hometown club Rotherham as well as Wycombe Wanderers, before going on to make over 100 appearances in step two with the likes of Boston United.

Last Time:

This is a first meeting between the clubs… at least that I’m aware of anyway, if anyone knows differently, please get in touch.
