REPORT | Quorn 2-0 Boldmere St. Michaels
Goals from Paddy Webb and Jack Samples secured all three points as Quorn maintained their unbeaten start in the league.
Webb opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute, coolly slotting home for his fourth in four games. Tyrell Shannon-Lewis thought he had doubled the lead for Quorn shortly after the break, turning in Charlie Marzano’s effort at the far post, only to see the Assistant’s flag raised for offside.
Boldmere pushed hard for an equaliser but The Mikes were unable to breach Quorn’s resolute defence. On the few occasions the visitors did create enough space to fire in an effort, they found an inspired Charlie Woods, who was equal to everything, between the sticks. At the other end Marzano and Shannon-Lewis forced good saves as the Reds looked to add to their lead.
With the visitors throwing everyone forward Samples was able to get in behind and hit them with a sucker-punch, striking low past Daniel Moore to seal the 2-0 victory. There’s no time to rest for Quorn as they travel to Hinckley LR on Bank Holiday Monday.
