SQUAD NEWS: Defender Returns To The Reds
A familiar face will be part of the line-up when Quorn kick-off the 2024/25 season. Defender Kane Auld has returned to the club after spells with Bromsgrove Sporting and Coleshill Town.
Born in Wolverhampton, but now living locally, Kane first played for the Reds in 2020/21 season, making one appearance before the season was cut short by the second lockdown. Returning the following year, Auld made another five appearances before departing for step three Sporting.
“It was an easy decision to come back” confirmed Auld, “I’ve heard nothing but great things about the club in the time whilst I’ve been away. I always keep an eye on what’s happening here, and with the history of the club, and seeing how well they’ve done the last two seasons, it was a no brainier already. But, on top of that, after speaking with ‘Bez’, and hearing his plans it was something I couldn’t say no to. I just had to be a part of this.”
A sports coach by trade, Auld spoke about his career off the pitch. “I love my job, and seeing the positive impact that sports can have on children is incredibly motivating. I got in to football myself as my older brother used to play and he would always bring me along. Then I signed for my first Sunday league team and the rest is history.”
“My mate Tom Allsopp just signed as well, and I’ve played with him a few times over the years. He’s a great lad on and off the pitch, so can’t wait to link up with him and the rest of the boys in preseason. I’m hoping to help the club to promotion, as I know they came close last season, a cup run or two would be nice as well.
Welcome back to Farley Way Kane.
