SQUAD NEWS: Leo Farruch Joins Ryan’s Reds

Quorn Football Club have announced the signing of midfielder Leo Farruch on dual-registration terms with Biggleswade Town.

Born in France but now residing in Loughborough, Leo has previously played in the county, making 11 appearances for Shepshed in the 2022/23 season, helping Dynamo to a comfortable mid-table finish in the NPL Midlands Division.

After moving to the UK at the age of 11, Leo and his family settled in the south and it was there that he attracted the interest of Chelsea, receiving an invite for a trial. Whilst he wasn’t picked up by the Blues, Farruch did catch on with Kings Langley, making 19 appearances for Lango in step three.

With a move to University to study Sports Psychology, Farruch dual-registered at Farley Way, making two appearances before stepping up a level with Shepshed Dynamo. Last season was a frustrating one for Leo, interrupted by injury as he made just nine appearances for Kempston Rovers whilst the interestingly nicknamed “Walnut Boys” suffered a torrid year ending in relegation.

“I really want to start enjoying my football again” admitted Leo, “first and foremost I want to stay fit and be able to play a part in helping the club get promoted. I know that’s the goal for this season and it’s great to be part of a team that are pushing with that kind of mindset. After coming so close last season and making the changes to build the squad, I’m certain Quorn is the right club for my development and I’m excited to be in this sort of environment.”

Leo introduced himself to the Quorn faithful on Monday evening, playing 90 minutes against Hinckley with a Man of the Match performance, scoring a wonderful solo strike in the second half.

Welcome back to Farley Way Leo.
