SQUAD NEWS: Pilgrims Youngster Joins on Loan

Quorn Football Club are delighted to announce that Boston United forward Luca Alonzi has arrived at The Stotto Stadium on an initial month-long loan.

Born in Oxford but now residing just outside Nottingham, the 18 year old signed up to Forest Green Rovers Academy at an early age after his Grandfather had introduced him to football. “It was a massive thing for me to see my name on the back of the shirt when I made my way through the Academy at Forest Green” remembered Luca.

Alonzi was teammates with Reds defender Zach McKenzie at The New Lawn, with both on the scoresheet in the FA Youth Cup last season as Rovers came back from 3-0 down to beat Thame United 6-3.

Having left Forest Green in the summer, Alonzi moved to Nottinghamshire with his brother and joined Boston United. “I’m really pleased to be here, I’ve heard a lot about the club from Zach and can’t wait to get started. Hopefully I can play a part in helping to keep the incredible start to the season going.”
